The College of International and National Defense Affairs, INDAC, was formerly known as the Military Institute of the Tri-service University, established in 1984, and was later renamed the Graduate Institute of Strategic Studies, GISS, in 1995. On May 8, 2000, the institute jointly planned the curriculum of strategic studies with the Diplomacy Institute of National Chengchi University. With sufficient teaching resources, the institute established the Master Program of Strategic and International Affairs independently in march 2006. In 2014, GISS established the International Master Program in Strategic Studies, IMPSS, which is open to international senior military officers, police officers, and civilians from friendly nations. In 2022, INDAC was established, with two graduate institutes, the Graduate Institute of Strategic Studies, GISS, and the Graduate Institute of International Security, GIIS, which is the enhancement of the IMPSS。
